New York City Breakers performing at
President Ronald Reagans 1984
Inaugaration
|
|
This was in my opinion one of the greatest televised moments in Breaking History it was like the
New York City Breakers were representing all breakers as a whole, it showed the world the art
form, the passion the incredible skills attributed to breaking it was like saying" look at us we
can't be denied anymore". This show only featured breaking no singers, no extra people, no
little glimpses of a celeb it was straight out- coming at you-in your face BREAKING it was
incredible!

The New York City Breakers were one of the most famous and recognized groups
in the early to mid eighties , and were a great inspiration to many Breakdancers including myself each one had an incredible style and flavor. They also started a whole fashion statement in breaking clothing ,as well, by wearing a tight fitting jogging suit made by Hinds that allowed you to spin easier ( I know I had my share of shirts and pants from Hinds that I used in shows) they helped bring breaking into the professional and worldwide spotlight with group choreography and clean on point moves for this reason they should never be forgotten but always remembered for the incredible talents they possessed. |

I had to put President Ronald Reagan in
here, he seemed to be a major breakdance
fan because every inaugaration or event he
had, breakdancers would perform, full props
to you Ronnie.
