Knee injury: This injury is one that you really have to watch out for....it is
the one injury that can end your career and has ended many careers in
the past from ball players to dancers to gymnast and especially
breakers...why is this? Well your knees are crucial and if you tear
ligaments or damage your tendons it can lead to major surgery and even
worst trouble with walking for the rest of your life...this injury is no joke and
you need to take this one serious because no matter what, you have to
walk a lifetime and being in pain while you walk is not the way you want to
spend your life walking. Knee injuries can happen an assortment of ways
from landing wrong when flipping to tweeking your knee in the wrong
direction at the right time..it is an unpredictable injury and can happen at
any time.

How to prevent it: One of the best ways is to always warm up before
breaking, jog in place to get the blood flowing and bend your knees slowly
one after the other.... also you can kneel and slowly sit back onto your
ankles. The main thing do not break with out some sort of warm up.

How to heal: Now let's say that you are past the stretching and have
already injured your knee...this is one injury that I have had that I had to do
the most research on to heal, I've tried various methods but this is the
one that helped me. First off I bought a real high quality knee brace, mine
actually has magnets that are sewn into the fabric apparently from what I
was told this helps in the healing and circulation of blood in your tissues, it
did seem to help, whether it was all in my mind or not is up for
discussion, and remember people, this is your knee here... spend the
money on a great brace and don't go cheap because think of the
alternative and how expensive surgery could be. Now I wore this brace
with every performance for a good 3 months... I wasn't going to take any
chances and after every performance I would try to ice my knee to keep
the swelling down and it also helped in the healing. Now additionally you
want to take some potassium and calcium vitamins, or bananas and milk.
If it is very severe and your over the age of 22 you may want to try
Glucosamine sulfate which can be found at any health store or vitamin
isle...I must admit from experience this stuff works...from what I am told it
helps with the tissues and cartillage and is great for your joints like knees
and elbows, apparently this mineral is something that naturally occurs in
your body and acts as a lubricant for the joints in your body, it has been
out for about 5 years and has helped people with not only injuries but also
arthritis. Do not take this injury lightly and treat it as though your breaking
life depended on it because it just might.
